FAQ's

What does the church believe?

First Evangelical Free Church is an evangelical church. This means that we own convictions based in the teachings of the Bible. These include the inerrancy and authority of Scripture, the existence of the Triune God, the person and redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the desperate spiritual need of men, the possibility of restoration to personal forgiveness, fellowship and communion with God through faith in Christ, in the importance of the local church for spiritual growth, and in the second coming of Christ as He promised. A complete 12-point statement of these convictions is available at the church.

Are you involved in missions?

Yes! We have a dedicated leadership team to catalyze our efforts in local, regional, and global outreach. We try to focus on a few select areas, such as Kazakhstan which has been a focus for us over the past 8 years. We also encourage all our people to be involved in praying and giving to other missionaries or organizations as they may choose. In addition, each summer we have several student missionaries who work in a variety of locations around the world. A missions page with more information may be found on this site.

Are you "charismatic"?

The answer is yes and no. Yes, if you mean do we believe all the spiritual gifts in the Bible still exist today. No, if you mean do we place a major emphasis on the gift of tongues, healings and miracles. We do not exercise these gifts within our public services because we believe that I Corinthians, chapter 14 clearly discourages the use of these gifts when unbelievers are present. And at all of our services, we have both window shoppers and unbelievers.
