DAVID STAFF
Lead Pastor
David Staff is First EFC’s Lead Pastor since 1993, previously serving churches in Indiana, North Dakota, and Colorado. His lifelong bride is Pamela, and together they have two adult, married children (Cameron to Janelle, and Briana to Joshua), and two grandchildren. Raised in southeastern Wisconsin, David’s educational preparation came through completed undergraduate study at Grace College (Winona Lake, IN) and graduate work (Th.M., and D.Min.) at Dallas Theological Seminary (Dallas, TX). His ministry responsibility includes ministry vision, direction, and implementation with the Leadership Team, preaching/teaching, and overall staff alignment and coordination. He has taught frequently overseas in Central Asia, and is an adjunct faculty member with Bakke Graduate University (Seattle, WA). TERRY DEZONIA
Pastor of Missional Operations
Terry is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and pastored in San Antonio, Texas prior to arriving in Ames. He coordinates the support staff, financial administration, strategic planning, and assimilation. Terry is married to Marcia, and father to David and Alan. “Ya’ll” will recognize him when he talks.
BRENT THOMAS
Pastor of Missional Opportunities
Brent provides leadership in several key areas -- shepherding the Adult Small Group Ministry, equipping the body in community service, outreach and influence, and providing direction for our global missions strategy and efforts. Additionally, Brent serves on the Central District Student Ministry team. Brent is a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, is married to Sue, and father of Megan, Shannon, and Kyle. He has been on our First EFC pastoral staff team since 1986.
