What About the Kids?
Whether He was describing true greatness (Matt.18:1-6) or carving out time in His rigorous daily schedule (Mark 10:13-16), Jesus valued children! Jesus words and actions and the Bible in general affirm children as blessings. Most parents would heartily agree with this! As parents, much time, energy and resources are devoted to the health and well-being of our offspring!
Yet, George Barna, noted researcher and best-selling author, writes: “We can strive to give our youngsters all the advantages the world has to offer, and motivate them to make the most of available opportunities and resources, but unless their spiritual life is prioritized and nurtured, they will miss out on much of the meaning, purpose and joy of life.”
Here at First Free, we believe that God has a life-long friendship and adventure in mind for each and every child and that no one has more potential to influence a child’s relationship with God than that child’s parents. At the same time we recognize that the pace of modern living can tax a parent’s energy and best intentions! This is why we work to be another voice in your child’s life that is saying the same things you, their parent, is saying, especially about God. It is our goal to assist and support you as you guide and direct your child’s spiritual growth.
