Leadership for Disciple-making
The priorities of the pastoral staff are to….
…be model disciples in character and the practice of personal spiritual disciplines,
…equip the saints for ministry through the exercise of their gifts in teaching, modeling ministry, encouragement, and leadership. Pastoral staff will intentionally involve those they have equipped in active participation in ministry.
The members of the local body of Christ are to pursue growth as disciples, training in the use of their gifts and ministry to others in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The church leadership (which includes the pastoral staff) will encourage members to be creative, intentional, and sensitive to needs in their disciple-making. Church leadership will also provide training, supervision, and resources necessary for members to fulfill their ministry.
Apprenticeship is the preferred method for multiplying and training leaders.
We recognize all spiritual gifts as important in building a healthy, disciple-making church. Regardless of one’s gift, all disciples are to conduct their ministries in the spirit of a servant.
We will adapt our organizational structure and leadership styles to fulfill our purpose as we move through our life-cycle as a church.
