Welcome To First Evangelical Free Church of Ames

Simply Giving

What is it?

Simply Giving enables First Evangelical Free Church to receive offerings through electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Is it Biblical?

The Bible teaches us that we should give.....
Cheerfully - "not reluctantly"   2 Corinthians 9:7
Consistently - "on the first day of every week"   1 Cointhians 16:2
Proportionately - "in keeping with his income"   1 Corinthians 16:2

When the amount and schedule for withdrawal are determined prayerfully and in a spirit of worship, giving by EFT is consistent with Biblical teaching.

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."  2 Corinthians 9:7

"On the first day of the week, each one of you should set aside money in keeping with his income..."  1 Corinthians 16:2

How does "Simply Giving" work?

For some, EFT provides a simple way to be consistent with one's intended donations.  By filling out the attached form, you authorize automatic payments from your bank account to First Evangelical Free Church, either once or twice a month.  Your bank statement will include these payments, and you will continue to receive a record of your gifts from the church.

Is there a risk in making electronic contributions?

No.  An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check; it can't be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail.  Electronic contributions also have a very high accuracy rate.

What is the advantage of automatic giving?

You can prioritize you giving within your budget.  You can increase your faithfulness with consistent stewardship.  It will save you time.  You also help the church stabilize its budget.

Can I change the amount of my gift?

You can change the amount of your gift at any time simply by completing a change form (available from the church office).  If you ever want to stop giving, please notify the church in writing.

How much does automatic giving cost?

It cost you nothing and it save you time.

Who sees the information on my form?

First Evangelical Free Church keeps records of giving strictly confidential.  The information on your form will be seen only by the church Financial Secretary and the Treasurer (as it has always been when giving by check).

How do I enroll?

Pick up the brochure entitled "Simply Giving" from the church foyer. There is a tear-off form in the brochure.  Complete both sides of the form.  Attach either a voided check (from a checking account) or a deposit slip (from a saving account).  Place in a sealed envelope, you provide, marked: "Attention: EFT" and deposit the envelope in one of the offering bags, mail or leave it at the church office.  Your envelope will be routed directly to the church Financial Secretary.
